In drei Aquarien werden unterschiedlich geformte Marmorblöcke in Säure aufgelöst. Mal handelt es sich um roh gebrochene Stücke, mal um Skulpturen oder industriell gefertigte Formen wie Fliesen oder Bohrkerne. Die Säure frisst sich langsam durch den Stein und bildet dabei feine Rillen. Gleichzeitig steigen – ähnlich wie bei einer Brausetablette – kontinuierlich kleine Bläschen auf. Je nach Konzentration der Säure beschleunigt sich dieser Prozess, und die Bläschen verdichten sich zu einer art Nebel.

In three aquariums, differently shaped marble blocks are dissolved in acid. Some are roughly broken pieces, others are sculptures or industrially manufactured forms such as tiles or core samples. The acid slowly eats its way through the stone, forming fine grooves. At the same time, small bubbles continuously rise—similar to those from an effervescent tablet. Depending on the concentration of the acid, this process accelerates, and the bubbles condense into a kind of mist.
